Sincerity, Honesty and Attention to Detail Attracted Delores Smith to FoxChase
It's important to Delores Smith to remain close to her family but live on her own terms, in her own place. "When I saw that FoxChase was for 'active adults 55 and over, I felt it was a place that would offer many of the things I was interested in," says Smith.
Smith became disenchanted with where she was living and wanted to move closer to family members. She began her search in Odenton, where some relatives were located, but then she "just happened to pass by" FoxChase as it was being built. She stopped in and was very impressed with the staff. "I felt the leasing agent was sincere and honest and told me things about FoxChase that made me feel very comfortable, and that was a big plus," says Smith. Now retired, Smith taught science, heath and physical education for years in the Prince George's County public school system. The former school teacher's sense of order and discipline is matched by the order and discipline she finds in the management of FoxChase, including the grounds upkeep, trash removal and attention to lighting. She also appreciates how friendly everyone is and the proximity to her family.
